Building a Brand: Birdcage Men's Underwear

Almost one year ago, one of our clients told us he was creating a new brand. He had a vision in his head and we loved it. Birdcage Men's Underwear would later launch at the end of October 2025, offering comfortable and soft men's underwear with a top fly. We were happy to be involved with the initial marketing. Birdcage had a fantastic launch and we hope to work with them again soon. Let's jump in.

From the start the founders had a great concept with a logo idea and the slogan of "Treat Your Bird Right". We immediately pitched very literal imagery for the slogan, pairing exotic birds with luxury experiences. The wording would match the branding with creative puns and fun slogans.

Over the few months we were involved with the brand, we used a handful of solutions to reach the goals provided to us. When we look at big picture marketing, we always take the road less traveled. It's a long winding road that creates a stable foundation so that when success is reached it is sustainable. With Birdcage, sure the brand could have thrown a ton of money at social media, but that's a quick up and a hard down. We build brands that last.

The design concept was a simple black, white, gray format with sans serif fonts. We created the brand assets and then got to work with a website. We used Shopify for the site, as is standard. With integrations like Pumper Bundles, Okendo Reviews, Simple Affiliate, and more we were able to expand sales and retention. Shopify is a great platform for e-commerce because of these integrations. For smaller sites that don't need all of these things, we like Wix Stores and Ecwid. You can learn more about those on our blog here.

We created a handful of mockups with the design, to see how the brand could look in future. Our favorite part of the whole design is on the slogan, where a bird is the letter "I" in "BIRD". This allows the brand to use the bird on it's own in other formats, as you can see on the stickers and the tissue paper.

Since the brand was on a startup budget, we had to use AI image generation fueled by real photos we took to be the background images for our ads designed in Adobe. If the budget was available, we could have created most of the imagery in house, even the images with the exotic birds. If you've been on our blog before you know we've just banned AI from our agency. What does that mean for this client should they return? We've pitched a plan that includes real content only, created by our team with the use of models, brand ambassadors, and real customers.

As with all clients, we try, review, then alter until we get success. For Birdcage this was no different. We slowly evolved the brand into what it is today on social media. All of the content was created by us through April 8, 2026. At first we started with UGC. Another topic we've written about here. What we found was platforms for UGC offer creators with large followings, but very low reach. Because these influencers are constantly posting for brands, their followers scroll right past. That's when we decided we needed to use a brand ambassador and make some changes. Dylan joined our team and is just one of our great ambassadors that lives in the same region as Birdcage.
