Building A Brand: It's Only Forever Tattoo

Review from the Owner: Ambition came highly recommended to me and although there are a lot of marketing and web design options out there I felt comfortable with them right away. On our initial consultation call I could tell that Amanda was very knowledgeable and confident. I had a very specific aesthetic in mind and she took my ideas and ran with it. I’ll admit that I was a bit apprehensive since I’m also an artist and knew I’d be picky about my own branding. However I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! A few months ago, we met Jenn. A local tattoo artist and the owner of the brand new It's Only Forever Tattoo. Jenn found us through another client's website. After years of working for other people, she decided to take the plunge and open her own shop. We were excited for this project from the start because it was so unique. So here we are building a brand: It's Only Forever Tattoo.

Jenn had a very specific idea in mind. A fan of the movie Labyrinth, she decided to name the shop It's Only Forever Tattoo after one of the songs in the movie. Her design notes were very clear, leaning into a brand theme with whimsical, fantasy, floral, and woodland inspirations. She had mentioned she liked the font Fantasy Magist and thought it was a good fit.

So we got to work! We used the Fantasy Magist font...but it just was too plain. There was nothing whimsical or unique about it. That's when we started pulling points and adding lines to the font. Fantasy Magist was a great base, and serves as the main font for the website and branding. Once we had our main text done, we added basic stars in a few places to create a nice accent and offset in colors.

With Jenn's original inquiry, she asked to add in leaves, vines, or flowers. We showed her a few options but ultimately we both agreed it was best to leave the logo just with the font.

We ended up with a final logo:

She had provided us a background she found online and wanted to use. It was AI generated and with the help of Photoshop Generative Fill AI, we were able to expand the image for use in her branding.

Jenn loved the logo, so then it was time to get working on the website. We went with a more traditional website layout with multiple pages and a screen height opening page. We feel this added to the branding to be unique, as most sites are now single page, long websites. We were able to pull images from her old website's gallery and her Instagram to create a portfolio page. We knew there needed to be an FAQ on her site, so we used a cool dropdown text feature on Wix to keep this are tidy. Online booking is available through Wix Bookings. An online store where Jenn sells her original art and takes deposits for appointments was set up with Wix Stores.

Next came the shop signage. Jenn ordered cut vinyl lettering for a large front window, cut out lettering for her door, and a cut circle logo for the door. We created individual flower and leaves vectors based on the AI generated background she loved, and we added them to the design. She also ordered an acrylic sign to match the door circle logo, which we love! We installed all of the vinyl at the shop and it came out great.

Once we were done with this, we moved on to ordering stickers and business cards. The branding in on point on these products!

We're not just web designers or graphic designers; we're also consultants. We were happy to provide Jenn with consistent advice on her journey with her new business. She's been a great client. We love clients that ask our advice and actually take it into consideration! Jenn has a lot of talent and we are excited to see where It's Only Forever Tattoo goes.
