Why We Love Wix for Small Businesses

Can the DIY website builder be a fit for your business? We love Wix, and we're incredibly transparent with our customers about our use of the platform. We never use templates, all our sites are built from scratch. We've worked on just about every platform, and we even used to create websites the old fashioned way, with coding.

So why do we love Wix so much for small businesses?

To preface this blog post, we'll leave a message to the skeptics. Wix used to be a low level, amateur platform, with very little room for customization. However, even back then we were rigging the system to make beautiful sites. Now with the new integrations and additions like Wix Studio, we're creating beautiful sites... just easier.

Does Wix work for every industry? Absolutely not! There are some things the system just cannot do. See our blog post for when using Wix is NOT your best option. Is it great for small businesses? 100%.

1) Flexibility

We've heard all the horror stories from our clients about their previous web designer. "They never made the changes I asked for", "They stopped responding", "They're out of business, and I can't access my site". That type of bad business makes clients lose trust...and we're not about that.

At Ambition, we give our clients the flexibility and the comfortability they need, so they're in control. We don't hold our clients hostage with monthly fees and demands to be the only editor on the site. That's why we offer a complimentary walk through of the platform after every site is launched. Sure, we are always just a phone call away to edit a website, even if it's been years since we last heard from you! However, many of our clients love the ability to log on and change their hours or update a menu, in their own time at their own pace.

2) Integrations

Wix has worked very hard to create some amazing integrations, like Wix Restaurant Menus with online ordering capability, Wix Stores for online shopping, Wix Bookings for easy appointment settings, Wix Email Marketing for eblasts, and many more. We use these integrations often, and they can even be managed from the Wix App. The seamless messaging puts everything in one place, from customer inquiries through forms to online orders and bookings.

Sometimes, Wix is not the best solution for shopping and booking and in those times we find that using our favorite third party providers like Ecwid, Local Express, Planyo, and Brevo work beautifully with Wix.

3) Customization

The fully custom abilities is what makes Wix the best choice for our clients. You'll see in our portfolio of clients that we have excellent branding across all channels. Wix allows us to change fonts on each site, to exactly match the fonts in our client's logos and branding, and change colors to match. Newer features on Wix that allow for animation make almost any request possible.

Our sites match our client's vibes and branding exactly, and we have an amazing success rate with using Wix.

4) Pricing

The monthly fees with Wix are affordable, especially when they offer 50% off sales. The sales are frequent, sometimes even twice per month and definitely around holidays. With the low plan being around $175 per year, Wix's affordability for the options provided make it the best choice. Where Wix really excels is with the pricing for their integrations. Any time we have a client on a budget, we use all the integrations on Wix to save the client money.
