How The Pricing Works

Accepted Answer

Each service has a set hourly rate. Each project has a retainer. The retainer will cover the approximate time it will take to complete the services selected, and this is the minimum fee for one-off projects. Every minute we spend on your project will be tracked and billed at the hourly rate against the retainer. Once the retainer is used up, clients receive a bill for the amount not covered by the retainer. We bill weekly to keep you on track.

How We Present Retainers

Before we get started, we will provide you a proposal with the expected time the project will take, the retainer rate, and a "max" expectation for if your project goes longer than expected. Clients are notified of all hours with status emails as needed. Billing is weekly. Clients may discuss budgetary concerns with us at any time.

An Example of Billing

You hire us to design a logo. We expect the logo will take 3 hours, and the retainer is $225. We start the project and track every minute. We finish on time but you have just one more request, a great idea that came to you last minute. Not a problem! We let you know we need a bit more time and you've almost used your retainer. You love your idea and tell us to continue. The total time to complete your project was 3 hours and 20 minutes. We bill in 15 minute increments. The additional bill is just $18.75.

Marketing Consultation and Plans - $225/hour - 1 hour retainer
25% off SALE Web Design - $95/hour - 15 hour retainer, minimum fee
Web Editing - $95/hr - no retainer 
Blog Post Creation - $75/hr - no retainer 
10% off SALE Graphic Design - $85/hr - 1-2 hour retainer
30% off SALE Content Creation (Capturing and Editing) - $85/hr
Models - $65/hr
30% off SALE Social Media Management - $85/hr 
Travel fee - $35 per hour, only applies to select projects

Will This Make Fees Uncertain?

Not typically. We have offered solutions for 14 years and we have a good idea of how much time each project will take us. We are usually spot on.

Question 6

Unused Time with Retainers

Accepted Answer

There are no refunds for unused retainers for individual projects. It is very rare that we will not use the full time. For long term plans, where 3-12 month retainers are used, unused retainers will roll into the next project.

Why We Switched To Retainer and Hourly Billing

Accepted Answer

Even though our services are custom to every client, our package billing did not allow the flexibility we needed. Life is unexpected. While one client might be taking off from our services and need many more hours, another might be cutting back due to industry demands or staff shortages and require less work. Hourly billing is the fairest pricing structure for our clients.
